No doubt dogs are the best pets, their companionship is very genuine. They are the most loyal creatures and one of the most intelligent ones too. They are super protective of their owners. They don’t think twice before stepping in front of their owners for defence, putting their own lives at risk. Dogs are the direct descendants of wolves, that is why they are also known as domesticated wolves. Therefore, they make for great protectors and trackers. There are approximately 400 to 800 different dog breeds.
The Great Dane is an amazing dog breed. They come off as scary because of how large they are in size but they are total sweethearts. Great guard dogs, extremely friendly, and good with children. Great Danes are usually around 30 to 32 inches tall and they weigh around 100 to 120 pounds. They do not need too much grooming because of their short hair and their life expectancy is from 2 to 8 years. Beware! Great Danes have a very fascinating history. The very first boarhounds of a huge size were first discovered in ancient Greece around the 13th-14th century BC. They were popular hunting dogs at that time in the whole of Europe and were later imported to England, that is where the real Great Dane started to emerge. They were known as simple English dogs back then. In the 19th century, when they were found in Germany, they actually took this name.
