Guy Deletes Everything Once He Discovers His Previous Company Is Still Using His Work

Many companies don’t care about their employees.

They might say that they care about their employees but that is all a facade to exploit the persons work. Now I am not saying every company is like this but many do promote this sort of toxic behaviour. And that is the sort of company we are talking about today. This company wasn’t too interested in the environment that all the employees were working in and only cared about the work they were producing.

Not only that, they were only too happy to overwork all of their workers and paid them minimum wage which was not fair according to the amount of work they asked from their employees. So it is no surprise that people didn’t have good memories working for them and that they wouldn’t wanna help them no matter what. You can read one such story by scrolling below. This is an experience of a videographer who had to create no less than 50 videos per day.

This person worked for a big company.

But they didn’t get paid enough especially when you take into account the amount of work.

They worked there for 6 months which was a feat in and of itself.

And the environment there wasn’t much better.

So after a few months, they propositioned the higher-ups to increase their wage.

It went as well as one would expect and they were fired on the spot.

The pandemic obviously didn’t help but they moved on.

But years later, the memories came flooding back.

It was their work saved in google drive which the company was still using.

So they decided to delete all of their work from the drive.

While the company has the right to use the work, it was still the person google drive that they were using so it is within their right to delete their personal work. Now, it just depends on the intelligence of the company as to whether they made a copy or not. It might be better not to mention this to them and make it out to be a mistake as the legality is sort of iffy with this one. However, it is always satisfying to see people get their ‘comeuppance.’

As you can imagine, people found the story pretty cathartic.

They even updated later as to how it went.

While others commented on how they might be able to get the files back.

Now we just have to wait and see how smart the company was.

Some people even shared their own experiences.

Whether they realized it or not, it is gone now.

I had something similar happen on one of the first video editing gigs I booked years ago, it was a church outreach program that wanted me to edit some footage that they had another videographer shoot (should’ve been a red flag that they weren’t using the guy who shot it). So I did the work delivered a final video and they shorted my check. It was supposed to be $500 but they only gave me $400. When I asked them about it they said “Well, I’d be willing to pay more if you were a professional editor” So I was pretty pissed. Every now and then for the next few months I would check around to see if they had posted the video.

When I finally found it on their website I went to flag it for copyright infringement on youtube because the video had an original song of mine in it and if they weren’t going to pay what they owed they weren’t going to get to use the video. I went through the entire flagging process on youtube and when I got to the end it said I couldn’t flag the video because I owned it. They were still using the upload to youtube that I had sent them for approval. So I took it down and left them with a broken link and I have never seen that video on the internet again. –ZachGeorge

Hopefully, they didn’t make any copies.

The company might have the right to use it but it was still their drive.

It certainly made me feel better as well.
