Karen Gets Furious For Not Being Seated At Closing Time, Gets Schooled By Internet

Isn’t it annoying when people cannot properly understand what the issue is, even if it’s pretty obvious? They don’t understand they are creating an issue and it is totally their fault. Some things are not that hard to understand and one should not have to explain to someone why it is not okay to go to a store at closing time and why it is them who are the problem in the whole situation. We all have come across people who do not respect the working hours and limitations of the working staff and end up pissing off everyone. But of course, the actual people who face the consequences of such horrible people are the workers.

If the manager does not support you and is not respectful of your workings hours, they would most likely ask you to serve that horrible customer and extend your cleaning up. And that is insane! One already has it in their mind that will get off by a certain hour but then you have to unwillingly work and start all over again after a long, long day. Such customers should just be sent right back so the workers do not have to put up with this.

Below we have such example of a woman who posted online about not being served by a local restaurant at their closing time. Thankfully, people are very protective of their local places and are respectful of their working hours. They aren’t going to allow any exploitation of the workers just because someone lacks decency. The woman posted online about the situation and was clearly expecting a favorable response wherever would join her to bash the restaurant.

As if everyone is as insensitive as you ma’am! The first comment straightaway called her out, asked her to reflect on her words and think why what she was saying is wrong. The last person chose to give this woman a taste of her own medicine and said he will show up at her work at closing time so she knows what’s wrong with what she was doing.

People were clearly not having it.

“Say you are Karen without saying you are Karen”. That has to be my favorite comment! Another person chose sarcasm and said “I can’t believe they told you they were closed when they were closed” to give this woman a reality check.

People were feeling insanely protective of the workers.

They highlighted how important it is to think of them as individuals with families to tend to. They do live in a small bubble where their only role is to serve you.

Others pointed out how it is hard to believe someone would make an issue about something that is so easy to understand.

If the restaurant openly says it closes at 8, it closes at 8, right? What is there not to understand?

Another comment tried to help the woman look from a different perspective and create empathy.

“Don’t you enjoy leaving at the end of your day? Work needs to end so people can pick up children go home and make dinner…”, this comment explained how we often forget that just like we have a job that we like to leave from on time, restaurant workers also have a job. Just because their jobs are more public does not allow them to be treated like inferior and with no compassion.

One person totally called out the woman on her entitlement!

People also pointed out that being a local should not matter! It does not matter where you are from. The rules that need to be followed are of the restaurant. No one should be given special treatment.

People with some understanding of the service industry mentioned how most of us do not know how the industry works.

When restaurants say they close at 8, it probably means their kitchen closed way before that. Another comment reemphasized the matter that being local should not mean you deserve any special treatment.

Another person mentioned the importance of getting educated about the service industry so people would be more empathetic, compassionate, and understanding towards their work schedule and their struggles.

Thankfully these people were here to hold her accountable and point out to her why what she did was wrong. Now, she probably would think before doing anything like this again. I mean so many people went against her and told her she is wrong, she has to realize she is wrong, right? Unless she is an actual Karen that she would defend herself even after the whole internet tells her she is wrong. Well, such things can easily be expected of people who pull such actions. But it is nice to know that no one tolerated her insensitive remark and gave her a piece of their mind, telling her exactly what is wrong with her.
