Inconsiderate Manager Demands Employee To Cover Shift On Their Day Off, They Quit

It is extremely likely that you are or are not the thing you are claiming to be if you have to make that claim. It’s similar to having that one friend who claims to despise drama but always seems to be involved in it. Hence, it’s probably just their ego trying to divert attention when your manager claims they aren’t being demanded while actually being demanding. This topic was raised after a worker got a text from their manager asking them to come in to fill in for a shift that belonged to one of their coworkers. The manager informed them that they were “expected to be available for tonight’s meeting” when they indicated they couldn’t come in since they were studying for an exam. As the employer expressed their “disappointment” over the situation, the employee felt it was time to quit. We’re beginning to see so many posts similar to this that it’s perplexing. How widespread is this among shift workers?
