If a woman births a child, it belongs to her and the father. Right? If the father proceeds to separate and get together with another woman, that woman would not be called the child’s mother. Right? Sure, the child’s stepmother but we all know how those relationships work. And that label also comes after the child is born, not before.
Well, someone please teach that to Kim who is at the center of today’s story. OP of the story found out she was pregnant after her partner, Joe, had left her to get back together with his ex, Kim. When Joe got the news he got really happy and excited because Kim had infertility issues and they couldn’t get pregnant. When Kim got to know about this, she decided, by herself, that the kids belonged to her and started treating OP like a surrogate. Kim would announce gender reveal parties and baby showers of her own which would annoy OP. Kim’s mother even wanted OP to give one of her twins to her daughter when they get born.
OP finally snapped and called out Kim for treating her like a surrogate and decided not to meet her and Joe until they all went to family court.

3. When she gave this news to Joe he got extremely happy because Kim had some fertility issues and could never get pregnant naturally.

Is Kim alright? Like, she is being way too invasive? Who told her OP’s twins are hers? OP didn’t say that as far as my senses and reading skills tell me. Kim needs to understand the children belong to OP, they are in her womb, and she is going to be their mother. I would suggest OP get a lawyer as soon as possible to get herself and her twins protected. This woman will try to rob OP’s kids from her.

10. Joe got to know about the gender and kept it a surprise for OP because he wanted to reveal it t her at the gender reveal party.
11. When OP made an online announcement about her being pregnant, Kim did the same thing…she also proceeded to announce a gender reveal party of her own.
12. When she announced she was having a baby shower, OP commented on her post telling her to stop treating her like a surrogate.
13. OP decided not to meet either Joe or Kim until they went to the family court.
14. Both Kim and Joe called OP an AH for doing this. She asked the AITA community if the direction she took was right or not.
