Student Scolds Classmate For “Saving” A Goldfish By Throwing It Into The Ocean

Having knowledge about something is a good thing, everyone encourages that. Expand your span, that’s the way to go about it. But after being equipped with that piece of information, you must not start assuming that everyone else must already know about it. You know it, doesn’t mean they know it. Respect that. Because of that unawareness if they engage in something that is wrong, do not burst out on them for being a terrible person, be polite and explain to them what they did was incorrect and then inform them correct them.

Such a lesson needs to be taught to Reddit user u/Sensitive-Fun-99. One day he overheard a classmate showing everyone a video of how she saved some goldfish. OP had good knowledge about fish so he proceeded to hear the story. The girl said she saved the fish by rescuing them from a pet store and releasing them into the ocean.

As soon as OP heard that, he went up to that girl and started scolding her by calling her the dumbest person he knows. After being called rude, explained to the girl and the group around her that throwing goldfish into the ocean instantly k*lls them because that is saltwater, goldfish only survive in freshwater.

OP was still called a terrible person for behaving the way he did so he decided to ask the subreddit “Am I The A$$hole?” to know if what he did was right or wrong.

Okay, I think OP was somewhat in the wrong here. He said nothing wrong. There is no way a goldfish can survive in the ocean because they are not meant to live in saltwater. But the way he kept calling a dumb person as if she should have already known about it was wrong. He could’ve watched the video, absorbed his instant reaction, and politely said not to do such a thing again for so and so reasons.

7. OP got called a b*lly for his behavior. He refused to apologize to anyone and was sent home.
