Periods aren’t embarrassing.
I know most women have been taught since they first got childhood, that they are something to hide. And that we should never talk about them in front of other people especially men. This has led to a divide between the understanding of a normal body function. Even so many women aren’t aware of how periods or their own body works which is plain sad. That is how we ended up with this mother.
She was too embarrassed to talk about periods with her own daughter. I understand being shy or conservative but this is straight-up dumb. I mean you’re supposed to help your kids in every way you can and if you can’t even manage to talk about periods with them, then you have failed as a mother in my opinion. I am not saying shouting off the rooftops about periods is what we should do. But proper education in school about anatomy would go a long way.

Mothers should never be like this, not even Fathers.
It is totally normal to put off your responsibility on your sister.
Just imagine being in the girl’s place.
But the sister was ready to help and told her about pads.
But they don’t work for everyone and especially those with a heavy flow.
Even then her mother didn’t help out.
There are so many other options like tampons, diva cups but not everyone is able or comfortable enough to use them.
That is when the actual mother stepped in.
And she showed off how stupid she actually was.
The sister was clearly only trying to help but that woman is crazy.
Why would be the sister in the wrong? She didn’t do anything wrong.
She then goes on to explain more about why her sister turned out this way.
Apparently, it was because of a super religious family.
Honestly, kids usually learn about most things from the Internet anyway these days but talking to them about these things is necessary.
I feel for the mother somewhat as well. It is clear she didn’t have an open environment to grow up in and this has led o her not wanting to learn about her own anatomy and suppressing normal things. Talking about periods is not gross and everyone should know that. They are just like using the bathroom, not many people feel ashamed about that so why about periods? Just teach your kids whether they have periods or not.
Unsurprisingly people in the comments were quick to come to her support.
They were horrified about her sister’s lack of knowledge.
I have heard that statement all my life.
She asked for it essentially.
After all, there is nothing to be embarrassed about.
Thankfully, the sister stepped up.
It is always weird to see grown women not knowing about basic things.
Hopefully, that child manages to grow out of her mother’s influence.
