40 New Single-Panel Comics That Will Make You Chuckle

Comics are simply another form of art.

Comics have been a popular storytelling medium for decades, allowing creators to convey complex ideas through humour and visuals. Comics, whether through satire, parody, or simple slapstick, provide a unique platform for expressing personal thoughts and feelings in a fun and engaging way. Comic books have the potential to reach a large audience and connect with readers on a personal level. The combination of words and images in comics can elicit strong emotions and provoke thought in a way that is both entertaining and stimulating.

Joseph Nowak, on the other hand, wanted to make comics that were short and sweet, didn’t require lengthy explanations, and tickled his audience’s funny bones. His art style is not only colourful but also does an excellent job of drawing you in. I mean, I was scrolling through his Instagram, and before I knew it, an hour had passed. Joseph Nowak has over 14k Instagram followers, and his presence on social media appears to be growing by the day. This is not surprising, given that he works hard on his art. When we think of comics, we envision four panels, or at least two. However, the majority of Joseph Nowak’s comics are one-panel, and he is still able to tell a story succinctly and without issue.

Someone like Stephen King (who claims to write 1000 words a day, good or bad) taught me that the best work comes after filtering out all the filler that piles up in the mind. I keep a list of cartoon ideas on me wherever I go and try to add to it daily. In the end, and upon review, something like 80% never gets drawn. – Joseph Nowak
