Allergies are more common than you think.
Loads of people have allergies and they don’t find out what they are allergic to their whole life. I mean it isn’t as if we all go to get our allergies tested and that is okay. Some allergies can be quite severe while sometimes it just means you get a slight rash or get the flu. However, when it comes to being allergic to animals, this can really limit a lot of people. After all, a lot of people keep pets and this means that you can’t have your allergic friends over without a thorough cleaning.
But even with a thorough vacuuming, some people would like to be safe than sorry later so they never enter a house where a pet resides. Yes, you can always take an anti-allergen but that is not really optimal when we are talking about a kid. And that is exactly what we are doing here. You see, this particular kid is allergic to dogs and he is friends with the son of the poster of this story. This means that his son is the only one who can go to his friends and his friend can’t come over.

He doesn’t want to lock up his dog but he is willing to go to a park.
I do feel for this guy. After all, he did mention an alternative so it isn’t as if he doesn’t want to help the mother. However, I am a bit confused as to why he didn’t try this sooner. Also, is it really weird to put your pet in a room for a few hours with toys when someone is over? I do this since my kitty gets scared and I don’t want him to feel anxious so I put him in his room with his toys and everything he needs so he doesn’t get anxious when people are over.

However, would a few hours really be that big of a deal?

If the dog is trained then I do think it would be fine.
But it would depend on the behavior of the dog.
The dog might not be sued to it so he may get anxious.
The woman is also asking for a lot.
But that may be because she is frustrated with it all.
But at the end of the day, most people agreed that he shouldn’t have to lock up his dog.
