Bambi Had A Dark Opening (1/10)

Bambi was one of the first few Disney animated movies to be produced in 1942. After losing his mother and having to be raised by the many creatures that reside in the forest, the film follows the titular young deer.

Bambi also depicts the destruction of nature by humans and shows Bambi’s mother being murdered by a reckless hunter. While many viewers think it’s necessary to comment on the environment, some parents find this violent portrayal disturbing. The horrible killing at the beginning of Bambi may be cut out, or nature’s devastation could be viewed in a more positive light.
