Playing practical jokes can be a lot of fun. After all, that is the whole point of April Fools. The look of surprise on someone’s face when they realize you’re only joking is always entertaining. However, one must be cautious about who they play their prank on and when they do so. I’m sure we’ve all seen videos of YouTubers pulling stupid pranks on strangers. I wouldn’t even call those pranks because they are never funny, and when you harm someone or cause them emotional stress, a prank can quickly turn into bullying. Many people are unaware of this simple fact and continue to laugh while someone is stressed.

The most important thing is to recognize the level of rapport you have with the person on whom you are playing a prank. And just because something appears harmless to you does not mean that it will be perceived in the same way by another person. As a result, it is always better to play it safe and refrain from going too far. After all, it only takes a slight push to cross that boundary line. And that is precisely what the writer of this story’s stepdaughter did. She appears to have always been a prankster. And, while OP has never approved of these pranks, she has always remained silent about them. However, at a recent gathering, the stepdaughter went too far.

Leaving a party because of a prank may seem extreme.

But we can understand why she did it.

Apparently, her step-daughter pranks her a lot.

And this is a common occurrence.

But everyone draws a line somewhere.

And for OP, the line was crossed at her partner’s birthday party.

So OP left the party.

But her partner hasn’t changed his tune at all.

I’m not sure how this qualifies as a prank. What makes this amusing? Do people consider embarrassing someone to be a prank? To me, this appears to be middle school bullying. And I’m surprised that the father chose to support his daughter rather than discipline her. I would have been embarrassed if I had been in this situation. While I would not have walked out, I can understand why she reacted the way she did. To me, it appears that the girl does not want a stepmother and is acting out to drive her away. However, it is her father’s responsibility in these situations to help her understand the consequences of her actions.

People were quite worried for her.

After all, how can this be considered a prank?

It is just bullying.

And it might just get worse in the future.

So it might be better to communicate this with the guy.

Many people don’t understand the difference between bullying and pranking.
