Not everyone is lucky to have a good boss.
Even though some of us are used to having a boss who is understanding and will give us some leeway, other bosses are not at all understanding and are completely the opposite of what I just mentioned. I am well aware that the Internet is filled to the brim with horror stories about people’s bosses but the following stories are honestly something else. From firing someone on a whim to asking things of them that no one should ever have to do, these are some of the worst bosses ever.
And I don’t say this lightly at all. These people really are some of the worst offenders. What surprises me the most is how ridiculous some of these bosses sound. They honestly sound like cartoon caricatures are being mean just for the sake of it. You will see what I am talking about once you scroll below and take a look for yourself. However, I will give you a warning that some of these may make you a big angry so proceed with caution.
#1 This is honestly something else and I am speechless.
#2 When your boss doesn’t care about you being sick and still calls you in.
#3 There should be a limit to how unprofessional a person can be at an interview.
Just withdrew my application for a position after a terrible interview where the interviewer wouldn’t turn on her camera, told me she didn’t read my resume, wouldn’t give me a pay range, and asked me questions like “Will you leave us if you get another job? Because the last girl did”
#4 This chair is apparently made of gold since no one is allowed to sit on it.
#5 When your boss wants you to give up your time off.
My boss declined my vacation (after having 4 months’ notice) to Hawaii to propose to my girlfriend because they (needed me badly) in the office… Obviously, work/life balance didn’t mean anything to them. Anyways… here’s my view. (She said yes)
#6 This is highly unprofessional and doesn’t make any sense either.
#7 I am not even surprised to see the boss putting all the blame on them at the end.
#8 When your boss doesn’t care about labor violations and fires you instead.
#9 This is honestly just plain rude.
Honestly, it just feels like some people let the power get to their head and that is how they end up becoming this hated. It does seem quite impossible for someone to act this way and not realize that they are in the wrong but apparently, these people don’t think that they have done anything wrong. I can only hope that this sort of light teasing helps them understand that the way they are dealing with other human beings is just not okay.
#10 Just a little bit of wage theft to spice things up.
Boss stole well over $20k in tips from us, I asked for my share back, he tried to short-change me (only $800) but gave me access to new payroll data, found out I was owed EVEN MORE. I called the DOL, I got paid.
#11 Did he think she would be awake at 5 am?
#12 A one-hour notice is not enough, no matter what people might say.
#13 What if they came to work on a bike? What is up with this person?
#14 This is less mean and more confusing if I am being honest.
My girlfriend’s boss handed this to her in her office saying, “These are being handed out from the company.” I’m not sure if this is a Christmas gift.
#15 Basically the boss didn’t want to buy tools and wanted to use someone else’s tools for free.
#16 When your boss adds you on Snapchat.
#17 This is some extreme passive-aggressiveness.
#18 It sounds like it might be too late for rectification.
