We don’t know enough about animals.
You will be surprised to see how much we don’t know about animals. Some of these animals might be our favorites but we still don’t know anything about them. Are these facts useful in any way? technically, I wouldn’t say they are useful unless you are writing a pepper on this type of topic. But we have so much useless information rattling around in our heads, so what is wrong with adding a few more?
That is where Brooke Barker comes in. She is an artist from the Netherlands and she has drawn up these beautiful illustrations to teach us some important facts about different animal species. Because as we all know, the newer generations aren’t really interested in reading a bunch of facts unless there is also a visual aid. There is no shame in that as pictures or beautiful art always makes things interesting to look at.
So just scroll below to take a look for yourself.
#1 The female foxes sure move on quick.
#2 I never knew that mice were so empathetic towards others.
#3 This honestly makes so much sense as we always see them falling down and just going to sleep.
#4 The name finally makes sense, they clearly can’t thrive in warmer areas.
#5 This is sort of sad for the squirrels but also good for the Earth.
#6 So the horror trope of black crows smashing into windows is just this.
#7 Why am I not surprised by this?
We honestly have to thank the artist who goes by Brooke Barker for these illustrations. Not only are the facts interesting even if they are a bit sad but the illustrations accompanying them are also adorable. The Instagram page where all of these are posted is known as Sad Animal Facts and that is quite appropriate. The page has close to 420k followers bu they clearly deserve more for bringing us important information in a fun way so be sure to check them out here.
The following is what the artist had to say about her work.
Did you know that hippos attract mates by peeing, elephants only sleep two hours a night, and male bees are locked out of the hive during winter? I’m a writer and illustrator living in the Netherlands, and I draw sad animal facts. I’ve spent the last three years researching and illustrating sad facts about adorable animals and sharing them online. -Brooke

#9 Love indeed hurts.
#10 We all need a sugar hit sometimes.
#11 I didn’t even know what a Pudu was before this.
#12 I suppose this is why bunnies breed so much and are famous for reproducing fast.
#13 Now I get why they need to constantly chew on something.
#14 They don’t need no man.
#15 So this is why people use chicken when they want to call out someone for being scared.
