Some people may think owning a cat is very simple and always fun. While that may be true, there is so much more to them than just fun and games. And no, it’s not all bad.
Being a cat owner comes with a lot of benefits. You get cuddles (if the cat wants), you get endless entertainment, you get to have a furry little four-legged companion to follow you around and love you. Yes! they do love you, they just have a weird way of showing it. But, for those of you who do not yet own a cat and are thinking of getting one, let us show you the side of owning a cat that people usually don’t talk about. And don’t worry, it won’t make you reconsider. But! it’s always nice to have all the information that you may need in the future. We’ve got some interestingly weird cat facts that will surely bring a smile to your face.
Maritsa Patrinos, who is an illustrator based in Brooklyn, creates these illustrations that are way too relatable. Along with her other remarkable work, she has blessed us with wonderful illustrations of cats, particularly, what it’s like living with one. So, without further ado, here is some of her amazing work about cat facts!
1. Cats sleep A LOT
Emphasis on A LOT. Because more than half the time, you’ll find them sleeping. Unless you’re sleeping, then they’ll be awake and going crazy!
2. Their whiskers fall off.
So, don’t be alarmed if you find their whiskers lying around the house. Plus, you can even use them in potions.
3. Their baby teeth, just like us humans, fall off!
Not to worry! That is just a sign of them growing up. They might even keep lightly biting you just as a teething process.
4. One day they’ll be tiny AF and the next they’ll be all grown up.
All you have to do is blink a couple of times. That’s how fast they grow!
5. They shed. A lot.
Yep, so forget about finding something without their fur on it. It’s going to be everywhere.

6. Black cats are basically invisible.
They are also really adorable! But sadly, you won’t be able to take a proper picture of them. All you’ll see are the eyes.
7. They don’t really care much for expensive toys.
To be honest, they don’t get amused by it all. Just throw your trash near them and they’ll be happy to play with whatever.
8. Touching is off limits!
The only touching that will take place is THEM touching YOU.
9. They don’t care if you buy them an expensive little cat bed.
Anything and everything is a cat bed. So, seriously, don’t sweat on it!
