Naturally, the bizarre accusations irritated her, so she asked the men why they would say such a thing when she earns twice as much as her boyfriend.
Everyone became very quiet, as expected, but the woman persisted and stated that there was no gold to be found – not from him or anyone else at the party. The man described it as humiliating and embarrassing, while the woman is irritated that she had to say anything at all, given that it was supposed to be his job to put them in their place. The boyfriend should have stood up for her in the first place and stopped those idiot friends of his to stop insulting her. Even though he was wrong at all times he still complained that she made her feel awkward. That’s a big red flag here.
