This is why you read the sign carefully.
We all make mistakes. After all, we are only human. However, the most important part of being a ‘decent’ human being is owning up to your mistakes. Although many people conveniently seem to forget that part. From what I can see is that it usually happens to customer service people. It is quite clear that many don’t give the same respect to these employees that they would give to any other human.
Why is it so hard to admit your mistake? Apologizing doesn’t make you any less of a person and definitely shouldn’t hurt your ego. However, many customers think they have the right to yell at a Mcdonald’s employee for not serving them a taco. And yes I ama ware how stupid that sounds. But apparently the following rude people could not realize that.

#1 Sometimes your mind just doesn’t work properly.
Nothing erodes faith in humanity like working retail and spending too much time on the internet. –radenthefridge
#2 Well at least you got some new business through that silly mistake.
I also work there and it amazes me that people make that mistake everywhere. I have people come in to pick up food and get incensed at the fact that we don’t have their name on our list and we must have screwed up.
Then I ask what is on their order and they rattle off food from the Outback (which is next door), they say nothing and walk out the door. Like I get making mistakes, but how do you miss a giant pepper on the side of the building expecting steaks with an Australian theme. –Jormungand1342
#3 I am thinking they were probably drunk, high or both
#4 Why do they need a plate anyway?
Anytime someone asked for a plate when I worked at McDonalds I’d just give them the platter thing the pancakes come on, or teach them how to flatten a bag to use as a plate. –DisneyMusicSlaps
#5 How can anyone mistake a pharmacy with a bank? Did they think all the medicine was there so nobody could get sick?
#6 Burger king serves Whoppers and McDonald’s services Big Mac’s. It’s really that simple.

#11 I think the chemicals in the air are making people stupid day by day.
#12 I can see why you would think it was the worst time of your life.
#13 And why were they holding the line while talking about games at a KFC?
#14 This is just disgusting. Who likes warm coke?
#15 She didn’t even apologize after that whole ordeal!
In what world do these orange slices look like mac and cheese?
Damn. I just began working for a Wendy’s near me a while back and now I kinda laugh cuz the worst I’ve experienced is some people ordering 13-19 JBCs. –meltingtreebranch
#16 At least your wife was there for you.
#17 Did they really hate sesame seeds that much?
#18 Panda Express is not supposed to have authentic Chinese food.
“This isn’t how real Italians make pizza!”
“Ma’am… You’re at a f**king Chuck E. Cheese.” –Mr_Jumbles
#19 That was just an overall sweet interaction.
#20 I don’t even want to think about how it tasted.
#21 Go to Burger King if you want a whopper!
Fun fact: McDonalds got too litigious with a company from Ireland, sued them, then bungled the case and wound up losing the trademark to Big Macs across all of Europe. So, while you couldn’t get a Whopper at McD’s, you could get a Big Mac at Burger King. –TWeaKoR
#22 It kind of feels like you took advantage of the poor drunk guy.
#23 What are they supposed to do? Change the layout for you?
#24 How do you mistake pepperoni pizza for sushi?
#25 I can’t even understand what was going through their mind at that point.
#26 It’s a hospital, not a luxury hotel.
