OP works at a private preschool and was asked by their boss to refrain from messaging parents until after 2 p.m. When a coworker asked OP to send a message before that time, OP suggested they ask their boss or co-director instead. The coworker got offended, complained to the boss, and the OP got written up. OP wonders if they are in the wrong for following their boss’s instructions. It is clear that OP’s coworker’s reaction was unreasonable, and it’s not OP’s fault that she got offended. OP was adhering to the rules set by her boss, and there’s no reason for you to be written up for doing so.
