Boss Showcases Power By Telling Employee They Can Quit Anytime, Employee Ends Up Quitting On Their Face

Employment is something very important.

I mean it only makes sense. so get some skills, get a job, apply them in a job, make some money, spend it on health, food, and other necessity of life for yourself and your family. Now, the management that employees were under is not always the best one, you have to be very lucky to get that. Often employees face some very unfair managers who realize that the employees have to work really hard to fulfill their physiological, financial, and safety needs and they exploit this by not performing their managerial duties properly.

This was the case with one employee by showcased her power for all the wrong reasons. She would boast about the fact that she could fire her at any time. Well, if you have any sanity, you would know that this is not a very good strategy to retain employees by telling them that they will be kicked out if they don’t perform up to the mark. Luckily for the employee, this  “leaving the organization” policy worked both ways. The contract not just allowed the manager to fire her, but it allowed her to quit at any time as well. So she chose to explore her option when she felt the time was right.

Let’s enjoy the story. Scroll down to read.

1. Wife decided to look for a job when her husband’s previous organization laid him off and ended up landing as a teller at a bank.

You often have some needs defined in your head before you start looking for a job, I mean that’s why you are working, for the fulfillment of needs. OP needed a job that would help her get health insurance for the family.

2. Poor woman was having trouble adjusting to the new job and would often make errors, for which the whole staff had to pay, and the management would keep reminding her that they can fire her.

I don’t believe such a strategy will motivate the employee to work better or increase their productivity. Yes, I would too feel bad to see the entire staff work to fix my problem, but managements way of dealing with the situation is not right at all.

3. The dumb manager would keep reminding of the firing-quitting contract and on the other side, things started getting better for the family.

The management kept enforcing themselves on her and on the other hand, the husband got a job and she got offered house teaching. She finally had enough back support to speak for herself in front of the management.

4. And finally, OP obliged by the managers reminders and left the organization in style.

5. Now that is how you deal with the entitled, they should not be given space to exploit anyone’s mental capacity just because they think they can.

I am so happy for OP, she did the right thing by quitting right out. I mean, if anything, she was only abiding by her contract. And thanks to the manager, for continuously reminding her that she can quit at any time she feels right. Everyone should have such a manager (never). These entitled people need to be taught a lesson.

Just remember that you have a worth and no one can crush it just because they think they have the power to do so. If you commit to this, watch the wonders happen.

Here are some responses to the story:

6. The reason is the corporate itself, it’s culture is toxic. That’s why they all leave.

7. Similar stories all around. This toxicity of entitlement needs a lot of work.
