Dog Sitter Threatens To Kennel The Dogs She Watches Over After Dog Owners Underpaid Her

Dog-sitters are consistently underpaid.

Dog-sitting, a labour of love that is frequently overlooked, is a topic that requires attention. From caring for furry companions to managing their needs and ensuring their well-being, those who devote their time to dog-sitting are frequently undervalued and underpaid for the enormous effort they expend. Despite the lack of financial compensation, many dog sitters continue to work because they love animals and enjoy spending time with them. However, it is critical to recognise and appreciate their dedication, as they play an important role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for dogs while their owners are away. However, at the end of the day, it is a job, and they must pay their bills as well.

Dog-sitting necessitates not only physical care but also emotional support for the dogs, which can be difficult and exhausting. It is critical to recognise the value of their work and pay them fairly for their time and effort. And, since so many people refer to their pets as their babies, it is only fair to treat them with the same attention and care that we would give a human child. However, entitled people are everywhere and believe they can walk over anyone. Furthermore, they continue to do so because no one has previously held them responsible. And it’s time to start holding them accountable for their actions. That is precisely what the original poster did in this story.

The title might talk about a threat, but the story is a bit more complex.

It all starts with a dog sitter who was very busy during the pandemic.

She talked to a potential new customer connected through a mutual friend.

OP told her about the cancellation fee in advance, but the woman ignored it.

The woman once again contacted her, asking her to dogsit, which the OP refused.

However, the woman assured her that he would pay fully, but that was a lie.

OP then decided to ‘threaten’ her to get the money she was owed.

OP was quite adamant about putting the dogs in the kennel.

It was all a bluff, as she would never actually harm an innocent dog.

It did work out, but the woman’s plan to act like the victim also failed.

Did the woman truly believe she would get away with it or that the OP would say nothing about it? It’s not like the original poster (OP) hadn’t informed the woman about the cancellation fee before. Not only that, but she had the audacity to shortchange her even more after they had already agreed on a reasonable amount. To be honest, this woman makes my blood boil.

She even went so far as to blame OP for her ruined reputation, despite the fact that she was responsible for everything. I’m glad OP received her pay, and I hope she never works for this woman again. To be fair, I doubt the woman in question would hire the original poster anyway.

I don’t think OP was in the wrong at all, and people seem to agree.

I don’t think the woman would ever contact her again either.

Isn’t that how this usually works?

You will always find the best beggars in the world.

Exactly! Was the OP supposed to stay silent and take it all?

No use of personal feelings in business.

It was her own actions that made her look bad.

It really was a scam at the end of the day.

If OP had put the dogs in the kennel, then she certainly would have been in the wrong as well.

Not everyone would have stood up for themselves like this.
