It all started when his friend’s dog got pregnant.

The friend wasn’t able to cancel the trip so OP offered to look after the dog.

This was clearly a stupid decision as he had no idea what he was getting into.

While there is a lot of advice that people can give him and helpful tidbits have already arrived, at the end of the day, he will still have to deal with the mess. While I believe that OP’s friend isn’t a bad person, I would not leave my cat with someone who has never had a cat and is unfamiliar with how to care for one.

I believe it was a careless mistake on both of their parts. OP clearly expected everything to be sunshine and rainbows, but that was far from the case. I can only hope the puppies continue to be healthy and the new mother gets some much-needed rest away from home.

People in the comments were quite sympathetic towards him.
