Why do some bosses think if they will not accept their employees’ resignation, they will make them stay at the job?
Terrible bosses are everywhere and they create a toxic environment for their employees. It is not easy working in a toxic environment and those who have had toxic bosses would definitely relate to it. Employees often resign to leave a toxic working environment and what if your toxic boss refuses to accept your resignation? What will you do then? Well, no need to worry then. Resignation is not a permission that you are asking from your boss. Resignation means you are leaving the job and you are informing your boss about it. But some bosses are so entitled that they will refuse the resign and tell their employees to go back to their work.
Today, we have a story of a Redittor who was sick of the toxic work environment and decided to leave her job so, she gave the resignation but her boss did not accept it. In fact, he told her that she is supposed to stay here but OP was not ready to take his shit anymore. Scroll down to read how OP responded to her toxic boss.

What can an HR department do against a boss who owns the whole office? They will probably get fired or told to shut their mouths. In OP’s case, the boss is not only toxic but also a harasser and all the women working in his office should collectively expose him to the world. So that the whole world could know his real side. Also, the other women should resign from his office and find better jobs.
7. Bosses can refuse the resignation of their employees but sadly they can’t stop them from leaving.
