A positive work environment is required for increased productivity.

If you are constantly afraid of being berated by your boss if you make a single mistake, you are unlikely to be passionate about your work. It makes no difference what the pay is if the work environment is toxic. I’m not saying people don’t ignore a lot when they make good money, but some things are just out of line. Just because someone is your boss does not give them the authority to criticise you for reasons other than your work. It never ceases to amaze me how many higher-ups enjoy sticking their nose where it does not belong.

Not only that, but they often believe they can get away with anything, no matter how badly they treat their employees. After all, they’re just lesser human beings, right? At least, that’s how it appears to them. That is exactly what is happening in his story. After this boss crossed the line, OP decided to resign. Things were already bad, but everyone has a limit, and this caused a massive chain reaction throughout the company. It is a truly remarkable story. However, this has caused the OP to wonder if he is also to blame.

The story is much more nuanced than the title.

Things were already quite bad and we haven’t even gotten into the meat of the story.

It wasn’t as if it was going to be hard for him to find a job either.

But this caused a chain reaction.

And not the company might be shutting down.

Everybody has a bad day. I mean, I’ve gotten angry at people for nothing on occasion. After all, you may be going through a difficult time and taking your rage out on the first person you see. However, even that justification has a limit, and this isn’t it. I understand that some people do not value pets, but it is important to recognise that for many people, pets are like family. As a result, the boss’s reaction was appalling. And to do it in front of everyone is the icing on the cake. It’s not surprising that the OP decided to leave after this. Something like this would make me question my own decisions. Despite the fact that he shouldn’t feel guilty at all.

However, people in the comments were on his side.

Am I even surprised at this point? Not really.

To be fair, I would not be surprised if this was true.

This right here!

That is just karma biting him in the a**.

Exactly, it is not his fault at all.

I don’t even want to imagine that pain.
