Redditor Faces Criticism From Her Friends For Sending A Condolence Package To Their Her Friend On Their Dog’s Death

This Redditor got criticized for being a nice person.

When you start reading such statements, your faith in humanity drops lower than what you thought was the lowest level.

Nothing is permanent in life, everything and everyone has to go. And no matter how strong one’s belief in this fact is, no one is ever ready when the time comes. Take pets, for instance, their life expectancy is way less compared to humans who are their owners. So it is an understood fact that a person who owns a pet will see it pass away in their life. And it is really difficult to deal with such a loss because of the strength of the bond formed with that animal. The pain takes time to go away. What we can do, as a friend or a family member of that person, is pay our respects and condolences. Be there for that person when they need support as the company helps ease out of pain better compared to doing it on your own. Be being with the person who just suffered a loss, you try to understand them and do the best in your power to help divide that pain among yourselves…just to make things easy on them. Yes, as I said there are people who pay their respects but there also exist some who like to keep their emotions to themselves.

In today’s story, Reddit user u/cassiemaeeee shared how they decided to send a condolence package to her friend. He had just lost his dog and she thought the package would really help him deal with everything going on. But for some odd reason, this act was not taken as a good event by her friends. OP shared how her friends ended up criticizing her for sending a condolence package on her dog’s death without letting anyone know.

5. Logan, upon receiving the package, paid his thanks in their friend’s group chat. That let Sara and Parker know that OP had sent the package. The two blew up on her again.

OP was NTA. I am sorry but I am not accepting this kind of modernization. I am all for an advanced world but if people in this advanced world think it is not okay to pay condolences to someone who just lost a loved one, I don’t want to live in such an advanced world. The criticism from Sara and Parker was so bad. And the fact that Logan liked the condolence package basically killed their argument right from the root. So yes, OP is in the clear.

7. The friends eventually moved on.

10. The friends didn’t care about Logan or his dog.

11. Saddens me so much that a person got criticized for doing a nice thing.

12. OP was kind and no criticism can change that.

13. OP really needs new friends but her current ones, except Logan, are not good people.

14. That’s what OP’s friends should’ve said when she asked them for a contribution.

15. Stick to your guns, OP.

Cat tax.

“So, I adopted my first cat. He’s a senior with arthritis, kidney disease, and bad teeth, but he’s the absolute sweetest boy; it was love at first sight. He’s only been here for an hour, but he seems to be settling into his retirement home nicely.”
