As it’s difficult to look beyond some of the evident problems in the original, many Disney fans believe the Peter Pan sequel shouldn’t have been released. The way the Native Americans are portrayed in Peter Pan is really problematic since they speak nonsense and smoke a lot of pipe tobacco. One of the most overtly racist selections is the song “What Made The Red Man Red.”
Despite the numerous live-action versions of Peter Pan, a new animated version of this famous classic might still excite young viewers. The damaging prejudices would need to be eliminated in a remake.
