This Cat Visits Neighbor’s To See His Soulmate Sofie Every Day For Two Years

A better love story than Romeo and Juliet.

Cats have been beloved companions of humans for thousands of years, bringing joy and comfort to countless households. Their playful nature, independent spirit, and affectionate personalities make them popular members of the family. Cats have a unique ability to enrich our lives, whether by curling up in our laps or entertaining us with their antics.

That is why it is not surprising that so many of us are obsessed with these feline creatures and would be unable to function without them. After all, there’s a reason the Internet is brimming with cat-related content. To add to the endless cat content, we have an adorable story about a lovely rescue cat named Sofie. She was rescued from the Boston Animal Rescue League in 2014, and her hoomans have adored her since.

This is the aforementioned kitty, Sophie.

We can also see Scottie right behind her.

I remember when I first started taking her out on the leash, Scottie would come over and watch from across the lawn or driveway without coming too close.

They even meet up through the window.

Sophie was too busy for him… but soon he became bolder and would sit closer like he was waiting for an invite to join in. Sophie didn’t seem to mind he was there as long as she didn’t have to pay attention to him much.

Just look at how they stare at each other!

However, today’s story is not about her cuteness; otherwise, we’d be here all day. No, we’re here to talk about her new admirer, Scottie. You see, it seems that a neighbouring cat has fallen in love with Sofie and visits her on a regular basis. Moreover, Scottie has always been there for Sofie, including when she first arrived at her forever home and was adjusting to the leash. At first, he hesitated to approach Sofie because he was afraid she would flee and she was still adjusting to her new surroundings.

However, he was always a short distance away. Finally, Sofie opened her heart to accept his presence. She even came to expect him to accompany her on her daily adventures. Furthermore, Scottie does almost everything Sofie does, which is truly adorable to see. And, while it is sad that Sofie is no longer with us, I am sure Scottie still remembers her fondly.

Sophie was the queen of Scottie’s heart.

His persistence started paying off and soon Sophie came to expect him on her adventures and allowed him to sit with her.

They truly were made for each other.

The first thing I do when I get up in the morning is open the porch door so Sophie can look outside. Many mornings Scottie is sitting on his driveway looking up and they watch each other.

I can understand why Scottie fell in love.

If Scottie sees us sitting on the porch from his lawn he walks over, politely uses the sidewalk, and waits hoping for her to come down. They are so cute together. Whatever Sophie does, he does too.

They always did everything together.

If Sophie is monitoring the bird bath, so is Scottie. He follows whatever she is doing from the time we are outside until we go in. Eventually, they started watching the hedge together each night, and then cruising the yard together. If you see Sophie out, chances are Scottie is a few steps behind. Scottie really is the cutest ‘boy next door’ neighbour. All he ever really wanted was to join in and be pals. Well, and maybe a quick kiss.

People in the comments are just as obsessed with Sophie as Scottie.
