Retail employees face many challenges.
Many people begin working in stores as soon as they graduate from high school, and for many, it is their first job. So, while you may believe it is a simple task, nothing could be further from the truth. Any job that requires you to interact directly with customers entails dealing with people who believe they own the world and higher-ups who don’t care about you at all. It’s the unfortunate truth, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make light of it. That, at least, is what this particular artist is attempting. Of course, I’m referring to Stephen Beals. All of his comics are not only hilarious but also very relatable.
Most, if not all, depict the horrors of working in retail in a way that is both humorous and relatable. Anyone who has ever worked in this industry will understand the agony of dealing with a boss who keeps piling on more responsibilities while not paying you at all. So, if you’ve had a bad day and want to feel like you’re not alone, these comics will definitely help.

This is what the artist had to say about himself and his work if you want to learn more about him.
The Adult Children is a comic I’ve done since I was a kid. It appeared in the weekly newspapers. The idea for this strip is that it’s all me divided up into four different characters. We all have different personalities, right? Maybe? Ok, I have at least four usable ones. The three main characters are Penny, Berle, and Harvey. Berle has tried to take over the strip from the moment he appeared. Penny and Berle are brother and sister. Harvey has known them since they were kids and has formed a long-term relationship with Penny.
