Consultant Goes Full Karen When She Is Told What To Wear At An Industrial Site

You can wear whatever you want.

I fully support the above statement whatever your gender may be. However, there is a reason safety regulations about clothes exist. You don’t want heavy machinery to fall on your toes and crush them after all. So if someone who has worked in the industry for a long time is telling you about what clothes you should wear, it is better to listen rather than get angry about nonsensical stuff.

Although this consultant didn’t get the memo. She dared to get pissed off when a worker tried to educate her on clothes safety. He was just trying to be considerate since they work in a place where you are bound to get filthy. However, the consultant was not willing to listen to reason. So as you can imagine, she got what she deserved.

First a little bit of background on what was happening n their job.

I can say from experience that jeans are really easy to clean.

I would understand her side if this was any other situation but this makes her look dumb.

It isn’t fashion advice though. It is safety advice.

However, things didn’t end there as the consultant was going to meet up with him once again.

And this time he was ready to get his ‘revenge’.

He was well within his right to do this. He even got confirmation.

And this time she didn’t know about the regulations about clothes in the factory.

So she wasn’t even allowed to set a foot in place which I imagine made her beyond angry.

She had already left by the point he had finished with his job.

The higher-ups tried to pin this on him but they knew it was their fault.

At the end of the day, she got what she deserved albeit less than what we wanted.

I would have loved to read about that.

Karen is the right word for her.

Exactly, it would be embarrassing to come into a job wearing heels when they require you to wear boots.

I found the whole interaction quite odd. It did feel like there was something more going on behind it all but I never heard of anything. It may have been that she’d had negative interactions with other men in our organization (some of the senior management definitely had old fashioned views).

Also, I got the feeling that she’d never worked in an industrial environment and so was unaware of the requirements. –DanielCade
