Everyone has dumb moments.
It is part of being a normal human being. However, what you do after you have been caught doing something stupid is what really shows your character. Many individuals just choose to double down on their stupidity in the hopes that yelling loud enough will somehow make their statement true. However, it is always best to apologize if you have been rude. Although if we simply think we are always right then how can we have the capacity to learn new things?
Even scientists or experts in their fields can admit when they are wrong so why is it so hard for many to do it? Is it because of pride? Because of the technological age we live in, everyone is a moment away from grabbing their phone and learning if what someone saying is actually correct. This is why thinking before you speak is great advice but even when people are writing things on the Internet and have all the time to do their research, they still come off as looking dumb.

#1 So the person just exposed themselves which couldn’t have been easy to accept.
Has something similar happen at my last job with customers. We had one or two customers claim that we had p**n links on our website and no one could find evidence of this when we checked. I’m 99% sure it had something to do with whatever the person had been looking at before online and they assumed it was us. I’m not sure how the conversation went after that, but I wish I had been there.
#2 If someone speaks a language fluidly, perhaps listen to them?
#3 Even if this person was wrong, why make a joke out of them?
What kind of teacher calls someone an idiot and continues to make fun of that person? What a horrible person. Glad she had a reality check.
#4 It is always amusing to see people act as they know more about something when you are the one who created it.
#5 Some people just hate to be wrong and are willing to pay more to keep up this facade.
#6 It would have been better to tell her you weren’t the IT person.
#7 Even I didn’t know bagels were boiled.
#8 Now, this is a whole new level of stupidity.
#9 What a great way to shut up a Karen.
#10 Hairdressers actually do this a lot from my experience.
#11 I would be disappointed as well. At least they didn’t say, Pluto.
#12 Sometimes you just have a brain fart.
#13 Wait, she actually thought that was how it was spelled?
#14 They will nitpick about everything.
#15 He must have thought it is ‘well’ and ‘come’ smashed togather.
#16 Why was wrong with all the females?
#17 Showing off and assuming things about people are never a good idea.
#18 I can see why they are your ex now.
#19 Or she was angry you were charging her 2 cents more?
I used to work in a supermarket and one day a woman came up to me and said that the isle 7 sign was installed upside down. It was an older supermarket so the sign was a 1.2×1.2m MDF panel in yellow with a big number 7 painted on, and just screwed to the end of the pallet racking. I pointed out to her that there’s no way it had been rotated during the middle of the day since I was down there just a few minutes ago, but she wasn’t having any of it. So she took me over there to show me, and of course, it was fine.
She stumbled for words a bit then said that someone has already fixed it.
#20 Sometimes fake meat really is as good as the real thing.
#21 Some people are just not willing to listen, no matter how hard you try.
#22 At least they realized what they had said.
Honestly, we all do dumb things from time to time. It is normal and we should act like our pride has been hurt just because someone has corrected us. We should always be willing to learn more. How else is one supposed to have an honest discussion?
