Vegan Mom Who Taxed Kids For Trick Or Treating, Ended Up Eating Their Non-Vegan Candy

Non Vegan Candy

Traditional festivals like Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc. are not supposed to be bounded by rules. They are called traditional for a reason. But it has been noticed many neighborhoods or apartment complexes set up their own rules for such festivals making them far from the way they are traditionally celebrated. Yes, you guessed, today’s story certainly revolves around a traditional festival being celebrated in an untraditional way, but at the core of it is something you won’t expect.

Reddit user u/MySuperSecretAccnt shared that at her apartment complex, everyone is given a scheduled time to walk their children out for Halloween and instead of trick-or-treating or knocking on doors, neighbors are advised to make prepackaged goodie bags filled with candies for kids. Absolutely terrible idea, if you ask me. Anyways, OP has two kids and on Halloween, she was busy because of work so she asked one of her neighbors to walk her kids at the scheduled time. The kids returned home with 12 goodie bags filled with candies and were really happy.

The next day, however, when OP took her kids to the park, she noticed the same neighbor was sitting there eating candy out of the same goodie bags. Turns out, she had taxed OP’s kids for those goodie bags. OP considered this stealing and the way she dealt with that neighbor will absolutely blow your mind.

Scroll down below to read how OP dealt with the neighbor who put a candy-tax on her kids for walking them on Halloween.

1. I have seen many vegan people don’t even realize they are eating non-vegan food unless they are told otherwise. So that is that.

2. Weird to read that OP’s apartment doesn’t do traditional trick-or-treating. What do they do then?

3. Kind of takes the whole element of Halloween out of the scene but as long as there is candy, I am fine with it.

4. OP had to work on Halloween so she contacted the above-mentioned neighbor to take her kids out.

7. Uh ho, it seems like the neighbor took some goodie bags from OP’s kids as a “tax” to walk them around on Halloween.

8. That is 10 bags in total from OP’s kids. Wow, that is rude.

Candy tax? This is the first time I have heard of such a concept. And she took it for herself, it isn’t like she took the candy and then gave it to her kids. In fact, she even taxed her own children by taking two goodie bags from each child. I would declare this stealing. This has made me angry. Who gave this woman the right to those children’s candy? Surely she is old enough to buy herself some, but that is not what happened. She ate out of other kids’ buckets and that is foul behavior.

9. Once the neighbor had finished eating all the candies, OP simply walked up and informed her all the candy she had just eaten was non-vegan…in a hilariously rhetorical way.

10. When OP explained to her that the candies contained gelatin and the background of it, the neighbor began feeling sick and stormed right off.

11. OP’s husband thinks OP shouldn’t have said anything in the first place, or had revealed the truth before she began eating those candies.

12. OP was firm of the thought that the neighbor deserved it for stealing candy from little kids.
