7 months later, OP’s wife still spends all day crying and watching Netflix in bed, with little response to OP’s inquiries and help, leaving him to do all the household chores while she rarely gets out of bed.
OP suggested therapy, adoption, using a surrogate, and moving to her parents’ city to help his wife recover, but she dismissed all options:
OP also suggested buying a corgi puppy and taking her on a weeklong trip but his wife dismissed both ideas, stating that a puppy is no substitute for a real child and a trip would be too stressful.
In a recent conversation with his wife, OP expressed that their relationship is unsustainable if she continues to act the way she has been and that she needs help. OP’s wife called him an asshole for suggesting she needs help.
OP loves his wife but cannot continue living like this much longer as she is in denial and refusing help, despite his best efforts.

OP wrote a letter to his wife the night after the original post, expressing his love for her and his desire for her to be happy.
In the midst of a difficult time, OP’s letter to his wife was a reminder of the love and support he had for her. It was also a wake-up call for her to seek help and take charge of her emotions. The trip to Japan was a much-needed break from their routine and gave them both a chance to reconnect and enjoy each other’s company. With therapy and a newfound sense of hope, OP’s wife is now considering adoption as a viable option to grow their family.
OP’s wife read the letter he wrote to her expressing his love and concern for their marriage and the next morning, he made her favorite breakfast. She started crying and hugged him tightly and they both cried for some time.
When OP’s wife stopped crying, she promised to go to therapy and asked to go on a trip to Japan.
