No matter how much we enjoy what we do, we usually don’t plan to stay there for a lifetime. The days when you began working in the mines at the age of 11 and remained there until retirement or your death from black lung are now a distant memory. Unlike the children’s desire, they are no longer taken to the mines, and we don’t anticipate staying in our current jobs permanently either. Thankfully, many of us have the opportunity to look towards new opportunities, only to discover that those fields are essentially the same but better at marketing and Photoshop.
This manager, like many others, took it personally when their employee informed them that they would be quitting since they had somehow wrongly assumed that the employee would stay with them permanently. The harsh response to the employer’s request for a raise is what first motivated the employee to look for another employment, so it’s unclear exactly what the boss’s thought process in the present scenario was. What made them think they would continue to pay the employee the same salary continuously?
So keep on scrolling down below to know what was the response of the employee in this article and what happened next. Make sure to read it till the end otherwise, you won’t get the whole point here.
