You can never hide a lie forever.
Lying always has consequences. There is only so much time you can sell a lie to people before they find out the truth. One way or another, the truth will come out and it will cause your downfall if you stayed consistent with your lies. Lying is morally wrong and if you are earning money through lies, the money definitely won’t be worth it when karma hits you and you’re coming back down. People do the most ridiculous things because of greed. They forget what is moral and ethical and just lie to keep the money flowing. This is true in the case of some “influencers” on social media. They will fool people and try to build up a false image to gain followers. A lot of people take the wrong path down this road, which is why we usually hear about the downfall of “influencers” when they are caught lying. Be careful of what you believe on the Internet.
This Reddit user had a friend who was a highly popular mom influencer but she recently got called out for lying to her followers in the silliest way. She certainly embarrassed herself. The Reddit user sent her a meme, but the influencer didn’t quite understand it and posted it seriously on her account. It didn’t take a long time for her followers to realize something was wrong and they started bashing her for it. Scroll down below to read the whole story:
So the Reddit user had a highly popular mom “influencer” who would gain followers by stealing personal content from other bloggers and claiming it as her own. She was praised by the public for “keeping it real.”
The Reddit user admitted that they might be partly jealous of their friend but still thought lying was wrong.
So, it all went down when the Reddit user sent her a picture of Monica’s apartment from Friends and joking by asking her to find a cat in the photo. The woman reposted the image on her social media telling her it was her latest Air BnB and asked people to spot the cat in it.
Obviously, people noticed what was going on and called her out for it. She tried to reason with them but eventually gave in and turned off the comments everywhere.
The influencer now blames her friend for letting her post it and making her lose followers.
So the Reddit user asked if they were at fault for causing all this.
This is why the Reddit user thinks they might be at fault:
Honestly, the woman had it coming. You can’t get away with a lie for too long. She did not deserve any of those followers because she lied to gain all that following. Karma was going to get her sooner or later. Maybe she will think twice before lying next time. It is her own fault, nobody else’s.
This is what other Reddit users had to say about the story:
She brought this upon herself.
It was bound to happen sooner or later.
Even I don’t watch the show but I would recognize those walls anywhere.
It isn’t as if the Reddit user forced her to post that.
The Reddit user isn’t in the wrong at all.
It can make anyone cringe.
