Dog Owner Tells Entitled Sister-in-Law That She Adopted Her Dog Not Her, Family Drama Ensues

Holidays are that time of the year when families unite, share happy moments and make endless memories. Everyone looks forward to the holiday season and makes exciting plans for it. Amidst the twinkling lights and festive merriment, Our narrator, u/New-Prize-7698 faced an unforeseen holiday drama featuring a cast of characters straight out of a classic family sitcom.

OP’s brother, James, is married to Sylvia, a pleasant woman, who had been raised in the foster care system. The plan was for the holiday festivities to commence at OP’s parent’s house, but unforeseen plumbing problems led to a last-minute change of venue to OP’s home. OP had hoped for a joyous gathering, but tension arose unexpectedly due to an unlikely factor; OP’s faithful rescue dog, because Sylvia harboured an irrational fear of large dogs and was not comfortable being under the same roof as that big dog.
