The plan was for the holiday festivities to commence at OP’s parent’s house, but unforeseen plumbing problems led to a last-minute change of venue to OP’s home. OP had hoped for a joyous gathering, but tension arose unexpectedly due to an unlikely factor; OP’s faithful rescue dog, because Sylvia harboured an irrational fear of large dogs and was not comfortable being under the same roof as that big dog.
