Today we will be shedding light on the inspiring story of a Belgian firefighter. He came to the rescue of some abandoned kittens and later adopted them and welcomed them into his sweet home. Before he took the kittens in, he ensured all his family members welcome the new pet with hospitality. His family welcomed the new pet just the way he wanted.
The doggos got smitten with the new cat immediately and adored him. They played with her as if he was just like them. The kitten was named Azmael by the firefighter. Azmael now belongs to the pack of dogs. He is with them all day and they ensure he remains safe. Azmael accompanies the dogs on their daily walk too.
The firefighter’s wife is also very attached to the new house pet. She posted a picture of the whole pet squad with the caption ‘Aww’ on the subreddit. This ended up attracting a lot of audiences. Over 77 thousand people voted for this picture which had these three cute pets hanging out together.
Natalia mentioned the names of the pets too, “The pets in the picture are Nimue (Altdeutscher Schäferhund), Azmael (the cat) and Liam (White Swiss Shepherd).”
The firefighter found the little abandoned kitten in the middle of the road. The poor kitten was in the middle of a pool of blood. She had seemed clueless as to where to go. Natalie stated, “It was still alive, but seriously injured. He tried to find his family but no one knew where the kitten had come from, so we took him to the vet where he stayed for a few days.”
The vet was doubtful about whether the kitten will survive. Luckily, she showed her strength and survived the difficult time. Natalie explains how the first day was with the new kitten, “On the very first day the kitten was at our place, we noticed that he had eyes only for our Swiss Shepherd.”
Natalie also added, “At first, the dog wasn’t sure what he was supposed to do with the little creature (Is it food? A new toy?), but after a few hours, he decided that the kitty was a new friend.”
She further said, “He took care of the critter (who, in turn, tried to nurse on the dog). They have a very special relationship”. She talked about how the three pets share a remarkable bond, “The kitten decided that our Shepherd was the best pillow in the world. Later, he also became best friends with our other dog, Nimue.”

The bond they share shows the world how different animals can be friends too. Especially dogs and cats, who people think are each other’s worst enemies, can get along as well.
Natalie discussed cute habits that Azmael has adopted, “Nearly every morning, Azmael joins us on our walk. It’s like we have three dogs.”
“But we have to be careful because Azmael still doesn’t pay attention to cars on the road, so we have to quickly grab him and carry him if we see a car coming,” Nathalie told, “He is not afraid of other dogs and even chases them away when they annoy our dogs.”
Awww, look at how Azmael is sleeping on the dog’s stomach! They share the sweetest bond.
Even though the bond these pets share is unmatched, their parents still have to be careful when taking care of Azmael.
Their house is in the middle of forests and beautiful meadows. “We are really careful not to walk too far from home when Azmael is with them,” Nathalie said.
They do not take Azmael on walks with the dogs when they plan on taking longer routes.
In the end, Azmael is still a cat and it is not safe or convenient for a house cat to walk that far. Natalie said, “When we want to go on a long walk, we have to make sure that the cat stays at home (usually the only way to ensure that is to feed him right before leaving the house, otherwise he’ll try to follow us).”
Azmal’s favorite place to sleep is on his sibling (who is a dog).

We agree with all these comments! I don’t know what is about the relationship between dogs and cats, but it always touches your soul. Maybe it has to do with the fact that we are constantly made to believe that these two animals are each other’s worst enemy and dogs are always on the hunt for cats. We always had the impression as kids that dogs prey on cats and that is not a pretty thought. We hope everyone is aware of how dogs and cats are capable of creating beautiful relationships and can coexist with a lot of love and adoration for each other.
