There is always truth behind urban legends.
Most if not all urban legends are born from a grain of truth. I know it is hard to believe in a slender man or a myriad of other spirits but many people do. And while I am not here to bash on anyone who believes in such things, I cannot say I wholly don’t believe in unexplainable things. After all, there is a reason these ‘rumours’ started in the first place.
From vending machines that disappeared out of nowhere to people ending up in neighbourhoods, you never knew existed, the internet is filled with stories like these. Some of the stories are just writers doing an excellent job at setting the scene while others are true for the most part. And by true I mean our brain plays many tricks on us. Why it does this is anyone guess but it explains some things at least.
And you can read some of the stories for yourself by scrolling below. And we have to thank this brave soul or Reddit for asking this question.

#15 Not really an urban legend since this is true.
From what I have seen, every town has their own urban legend. I don’t know about any surrounding my town but that is probably because I don’t stay awake until 4 am searching up scary things happening around me. Believe it or not, I actually like to sleep and these legends have just given me nightmares for days to come.
#16 Lake monsters are always the worst in my opinion.
#17 Ghosts. The answer is always ghosts.
#18 I would love to meet the dancing man in person.
#19 This is a huge no from me no matter what.
#20 What is up with terrifying things happening around railroads?
#21 Why would you use an ouija board? That is just dumb.
#22 Nuns always somehow make things scarier.
#23 I wonder if people have tried doing it just to check.
#24 I have to be honest, the name is hilarious.
#25 I don’t think I want to look it up.
#26 So simply don’t follow someone to the water. It never ends well.
#27 Just stay on the ground and everything will be fine.
#28 Sometimes you are the reason, an urban legend started.
#29 And how does one pass through the gates? I have to know… for scientific reasons.
#30 I wouldn’t recommend searching up skinwalkers.
