When a mother’s overbearing nature is always present, consistently berating and making her children feel bad and when she’s acting as if she’s never satisfied with any accomplishments, it causes the children to feel inadequate. Treating your kids this way can leave long-lasting imprints well into adulthood. A toxic mother’s children may end up distancing themselves from their overbearing mother to avoid the constant stress and negative comments, or they may resort to just listening out of frustration to save themselves the headache.
