In the case of roommates, until or unless I offer you any of my resources or anything to use or have, only then are you entitled by me to take it. You have no right to take my stuff unless I permit you to do so. If you take it, you are stealing it and I wouldn’t want to live with you anymore.
In today’s story, Reddit user u/VioletThunderX shared she went on a trip to Las Vegas and purchased some gourmet candies she really liked. When she returned, she offered some of it to her roommate who really liked the candy as well. However, when OP left the bag of candies in the kitchen and went to her room to rest while getting high with his friends, OP’s roommate ended up emptying 90% of that bag. When OP got up and went to the kitchen to have some of that candy, she realized what had happened. He was passed out on the couch so she woke him up with all his might to confront him about the candy.
OP eventually walked away. Her being upset wasn’t just her roommate eating her gourmet candy, there is a lot more he had been doing that you will find out later in the story. Somethings that potentially endangered OP’s life as they happened.

1. If he ate them without your permission then yes. Gourmet candies are no joke.
2. OP lives with X, her roommate, who is part of her extended friend’s group. This makes her feel comfortable as compared to living with a complete stranger.
3. When OP went on a trip to Las Vegas she went to this very famous candy store.
4. She got herself a bag of candies that she knew she would like.
5. The day she returned X asked her if she went to “that” candy store.
6. OP offered him some candy and took a handful saying they were delicious. OP sat the bag in the kitchen and went to her room as X continued getting high with his friends.
7. When OP went to the kitchen to get some candy, she found that 90% of the bag was empty and was lying on the couch fully passed out.
8. OP tried waking X up but he was in no senses.
This was really rude of X to do that. He had no right to those specialty candies. The way OP described that part of the story, it feels like they are only available in that Las Vegas candy shop. Will X go to Las Vegas to get her a new bag of candy? I highly doubt that.
Personally, I think OP may be better off living with a stranger than this addict who is currently lying on a couch fully unconscious.

9. When she finally got him to wake up and confronted him about the candies, she told OP he had enough money to replace her specialty candy. OP didn’t like his behavior and walked away.
10. What hurt OP the most was that X didn’t even apologize. There was no guilt spotted on his face.
11. Woah, the story took an unexpected turn. OP, this guy is dangerous. Da*n!

13. To put him in order, OP decided she would not allow him to use her gaming console anymore.
