Are parenthood and being a pet owner the same thing?
Reddit is full of so much content that is enough to keep us entertained for the rest of our lives and our coming generation. But there is one specific corner of Reddit where you cannot just be amused by the story. Still, you have to turn to Sherlock Holmes, investigate the matter at hand, and make a decision either in favor of the problem or against it. That infamous subreddit is famously known as Am I The Asshole?. The subreddit was created back in June 2013 and has welcomed 4,000,000 members since then. The verdict is simple, the community members read the story and decide whether the poster was an AH or was NTA.
In today’s AITA story that we have got for you guys to investigate, OP, a single mom, poses a major question to the community. Her brother basically has a dog and he absolutely loves telling everyone how is a dog owner. I mean it is a wonderful thing because it shows that her brother truly loves his dog and wants the world to know about it. But his sister’s problem is that he considers himself a parent. The single mom sister contests that parenting and being a dog owner are two very different things. The brother disagrees. Now she can’t decide whether she was right or wrong to tell her brother So here she is, leaving the matter to us.

4. Clearly the single mom has struggled a lot to raise her child. Normally the productive economy is taken care of by the husband but here the mom had to take care of everything, the taking care side, and the finance side.

5. Pet owners take adoption very seriously. They actually think of their pet as a child. Only then can you make those extraordinary efforts. By telling him that he is not a parent to the dog, it must’ve hurt him.

This is a tough one if you ask me. A pet to its owner is like a baby. They look after them all the time and you’re basically upbringing it and all. But, I will have to side with the sister on this one because she is kinda right on this. A very thin line but she is correct. Taking care of a child and bringing it up is actually far more stressful, time taking, and tough. You have to go through so much and just can’t give up because their psychologies are just like us but they are too young to control it. But still, this one is tough. No, parenting and owning a dog are not the same things. And based on that, I would say that the sister was NTA.
