Father Realizes That His Son Asked Out A Girl As A Prank, Punishes Him For It

It is the job of parents to teach their children responsibility.

While I understand that you can’t force your child to act a certain way, it is the responsibility of parents to teach their children to be more empathetic and to act with dignity. However, even if you do your best, your children can be influenced by others and end up making mistakes. After all, bad influences exist, and they are fairly common when you are a teenager. This, I believe, is what is going on in this story. This teen, you see, asked a girl out on a dare. This may sound like a bad movie plot, but it happened in real life.

As you might expect, any well-meaning parent would be shocked to learn that their child is acting in such a callous manner. When the father found out, he decided to punish his child. I understand that the teen feels betrayed and that he believes it isn’t such a big deal, but it is. Playing with someone’s emotions is no small matter, and some children simply do not understand the gravity of their actions. However, the father was concerned about the situation and asked the internet to see if he was correct.

The title may say harmless but I’m afraid I have to disagree with that at all.

He says that he is proud of what his children have grown up to be.

However, that doesn’t mean that he is willing to turn a blind eye towards their antics.

So the father decided to talk to his son about it after his friends had already left.

He tried his best but the son apparently sees no wrong in what he did.

Even his wife isn’t on his side using the age-old ‘boys will be boys’ line that perpetuates this kind of behaviour.

And that this how he ended up on Reddit asking for advice.

I understand that people have different perspectives on everything, but I don’t believe he is being nosy at all. After all, the teen did play with a girl’s feelings, which is never acceptable in any situation. It may begin as a harmless prank, but if left unchecked, these pranks can escalate in severity. So I’m glad his father caught on quickly and reprimanded his son. I can only hope that the youngster realises his error soon.
