The vast majority of people suffer from eating disorders.
Eating disorders, which range from anorexia to binge eating, can have serious physical and mental health consequences if not treated. Seeking professional help and support from loved ones is critical for overcoming these obstacles. It is important to remember that recovery is possible with the appropriate treatment and support system in place. Individuals can regain control of their relationship with food and their bodies by addressing the disorder’s underlying causes and developing healthy coping mechanisms. While it is never as simple as it appears, admitting you have a problem is always the first step.
However, having people around you mock you for your eating habits is just another way for you to revert to your old habits. Mocking someone’s eating habits is not only offensive, but it also demonstrates a lack of empathy and understanding for what they are going through. Everyone has different reasons for their food choices, whether it’s because of a medical condition, personal preferences, or cultural beliefs. It is necessary to recognise and respect these differences. However, the original poster’s (OP’s) future sister-in-law missed the memo and thought it was a good idea to mock the OP’s girlfriend’s eating habits.

Making comments about someone’s eating habits is just plain nosy.
OP has been with his girlfriend for 4 years, and she has always had problems with food due to being autistic.
OP loves cooking, so he was fine with having his brother and his sister-in-law over for a family dinner.
OP decided on a Japanese theme for the food, and he made sure to keep in mind everyone’s food preferences.
He paid a lot of attention to what his girlfriend had, as she has never liked food, and it is perfectly okay to be picky when it comes to food.

However, the problems started when Laura (the sister-in-law) started picking on Kelly and mentioned things about her eating habits.
Kelly and Laura got into a fight when Laura decided to grab some of the ramen to make her point.
OP asked his brother and Laura to leave, as his parents were surprised by Laura’s behaviour as well.
OP’s brother, however, was annoyed that they got kicked out.
OP isn’t sure whether he messed up by kicking his brother and SIL out over this mess.

I understand that OP’s brother is upset with how things turned out, but does he not see that his future wife acted horribly? I would be very embarrassed if my partner behaved in this manner. However, I am grateful that OP’s parents supported them and recognised that the woman in question needed to apologise. I’m still left wondering what motivated her to act in this manner in the first place. But without peering into her mind, we’ll never know.
What point did grabbing the ramen prove?
Laura really was acting like a childish bully.
What was Laura’s reasoning behind how she acted?
I hope Laura realises that she messed up.
It would be better to never let Laura into your home.

Even the parents wanted Laura to apologise.
Does anyone care if it is authentic?
I do feel for the baby.
However, somebody wants to eat their food, which is their business.
I doubt Laura felt ashamed after the fiasco.
