Child-Free Woman Berates Male Friend For Bringing His Son Along On A Group Trip

Even though kids can be adorable, not everyone is a fan. So, when you’re a parent and still want to hang out with friends, planning is key. In a story from the subreddit “Am I The A$$hole?“, we have at the center of it Reddit user Plastic_Tea2094, part of a friend group with his wife and their two-year-old son. Among them is a friend who isn’t keen on children.

Despite this, they all planned a 5-day trip to a beach house, knowing two members had kids. One parent, a single dad, intended to bring his daughter, so the group agreed. However, he had to cancel last minute due to his daughter’s illness. The friend questioned why OP and his wife didn’t leave their son behind, but they had no other childcare options. OP and her husband couldn’t leave their son behind because there were no childcare options to avail at the last minute. The friend questioned their choice of bringing their son along and it caused a major strain to the overall happiness of the trip.

I don’t mind people not in favor of the concept of having kids, or people who have decided to go child-free. It is their life, they can very well decide what is best for them. But Zoe is taking it a bit too far by saying she can’t even stand the presence of a kid in the same room she is in. That crosses the line and is borderline unfair to those who have kids and can’t leave them alone. It’s not like the kid will bite her and give her an untreatable infection. I think Zoe was running her mouth more than it was required.
