It’s not surprising that people organize baby showers because it’s amazing to know that life is developing inside of you. A pregnant woman’s baby shower can be hosted by anybody in her life, including friends, family, and even spouses.
Baby showers tend to be hosted by family members who were not close to the expecting parents in order to avoid the perception that they were trying to collect gifts for themselves. Nowadays, a close relative of the expecting parents hosts the majority of baby showers.
Today’s story’s narrator has an 18-year-old stepsister who is about to give birth. The OP has limited knowledge of the full situation, but she is aware that the baby has no father and no paternal family.
She resides with her father as well as his wife. As a result, OP’s stepmom randomly contacted her and informed her that although her sister would be the next best person to throw her a baby shower, her daughter’s friends were not willing to do so.
Stepmom added that this is an opportunity for the OP to make amends and start out as an aunt on the right foot. Well, the OP declined, and afterward her stepsister texted her.
