Reddit user Much_Seaweed5111 shared that she moved into a new house, a house that shared the property line from two sides; backyard and side, with two of her neighbors.
OP once argued with the backyard neighbor regarding whose property line were the society trees close to because that would decide who would have to maintain this. OP decided to have a property survey conducted for the resolution of the matter. She ended up finding out that the neighbor sharing the sideline of the property with her actually had a fence built that was inside her yard instead of his.
OP decided to confront the neighbor and tried her best to come to a mutual arrangement that would make life easy for both of them but no solution was found. The neighbor offered to buy a sliver of OP’s property that would result in the fence automatically coming within his property line but this time OP threw in a refusal. The neighbor threatened to get the lawyer involved but OP remained firm and ended up being called an AH.

4. OP had a survey done which resulted in the backyard neighbor laying his weapons down. However, the survey also unveiled that a fence that her next-door neighbor had built was 6 feet into OP’s yard.
5. OP always knew there was some issue with the fence being within her bounds but never said anything until the confirmation finally came with a survey she conducted. OP confronted the next-door neighbor.
6. The neighbor tried convincing OP to let go of the matter but she stood firm with her legal survey.
7. The neighbors threatened OP to have lawyers involved.
8. A month after the initial confrontation, the neighbor approached OP and tried to convince her once again, this time to buy part of her property to bring the fence within their property bounds.
And that’s the mistake the neighbor made. As soon as they asked OP to buy a sliver of her property, it made things very clear that the neighbor knew he had built his fence illegally into OP’s yard. They had gotten their survey done long ago and knew exactly what they were doing. They thought OP would give in but that was not the case. OP stood her ground firmly and didn’t let any threats get in the way of her resilient stance.

9. I have a specific hate for those who know they are doing something wrong but still take their chances because why not?
10. OP simply refused and the neighbor began with the threats regarding getting the law involved.
11. I think this is it. They thought OP was young, they would manage her easily.
12. OP offered to forge an agreement that would allow the neighbors to use her property for the fence but additional stipulations made them refuse.
13. For three years, the neighbors haven’t talked to OP. That is some grudge.
14. Because the neighbor was still on good terms with the backyard neighbor, the prevailing conditions made OP take the matter to the AITA community.
