Divorced Mom Lets Childhood Friend Move In With Her, Now He Wants Her To Move Out Of Her Own Apartment

Picture yourself extending a helping hand to a friend of more than two decades, offering them a discounted spot in your rental apartment during their time of need. It’s the kind of support that defines deep friendships. Now imagine that same friend suddenly demanding that you vacate the premises because they’ve developed a preference for solitary living. This was the perplexing situation faced by Reddit user u/Ok-Designer-7319.

Having generously provided her best friend with accommodation during a difficult period, OP found herself confronted with an unexpected ultimatum: her friend wanted her out so he could enjoy living alone. Despite the shock, she respected his wishes, assuming he would depart as a result. However, things took a surprising turn. Instead of leaving, the friend began attempting to evict OP from her own apartment.

What began as a simple act of kindness spiraled into a dramatic conflict over living arrangements. Scroll down below to read the story!

Let me get this straight. The best friend of over 20 years now wants to live alone. That is fine, we all like to invite changes in our lives that we feel favor us better. And to the best of my knowledge, OP didn’t say no at any point. She simply said if her best friend wants to live alone, he can move out and start living alone. Simple, right? But no, he wants to live in the same apartment and wants OP to move out. This is beyond me.

You can’t kick a friendship in the face but expect its benefits to remain intact. That’s not how it works.

11. I swear the friend’s behavior feels so out of the blue, no on in their right mind does such a thing.

12. I am sorry but this update has me disappointed. There is no point in continuing this friendship.
