Father Refused To Pay For His Daughter’s College

College is expensive, and most students need some financial help from their parents or other sources to afford it. But what if your parents decide to withdraw their support unless you do something you don’t want to do? That’s the dilemma faced by this 19-year-old girl, who was told by her dad that he would not pay for her college unless she tried to get along with his new wife and son. The girl had a very strained relationship with her dad, who divorced her mom after she cheated on him. She blamed him for breaking up their family and sided with her mom, who badmouthed him to her. She also hated his new wife and son and treated them with contempt and hostility. She refused to have anything to do with them and even excluded them from her graduation party.

Her dad was hurt and angry by her behavior and decided to teach her a lesson. He told her that he would not pay for her college, which he had agreed to split with her mom unless she made an effort to bond with his family.

2. OP and his ex-wife, Lauren, had Ariel when the two were very young so that chapter began with a lot of struggles.

3. OP and Lauren had to do a lot to make ends meet. The two were best friends but things didn’t live for long after Ariel’s birth.

10. OP had to go through therapy but in all ways hid stance remained the same about his daughter’s unfair behavior towards him.

Relationships can be so complex, and this story is a perfect example of that. Ultimately, this is a brawl between a father and a daughter. A brawl that should have never existed based on how pure this relationship is in general.

I hope they sort this out because ruining a blood relation over step relations will never do any of them any good. This is an emotional read.

12. When Ariel graduated, she threw a party and invited her father as well, but not his family. This was not liked by OP.
