Guy Asks Brother If His Pregnant Girlfriend Could Deliver Her Baby At His House

SIL pregnancy delivery

How would you react if your brother and his girlfriend asked you to let them have their baby at your house, without any medical supervision or backup? Half of you just did that puking thing, and the other half went “This could go terribly wrong”. Tell me if I am wrong.

That’s the dilemma that one man faced when his brother and his girlfriend decided to have a home birth and wanted to use his house as the venue. OP explained that he refused to let them use his house because he felt uncomfortable and weird about it. He also said that he did not want to leave them alone at his house and that he preferred that they go to a hospital. Above all, what bothered OP the most and I am sure what is bothering you guys the most as well, was the fact that why didn’t his brother and the pregnant girlfriend go to the doctor through the course of her pregnancy? How did they even deal with all the pregnancy-related issues that appear so often without any medical officer’s supervision?

The thought of something going terribly wrong during the delivery kept convincing OP he shouldn’t allow his brother and his girlfriend to have their baby at his house. The matter was taken to the courts of the subreddit “Am I The A$$hole?” by OP just to confirm if his decision was correct or not.

1. Have her what at his house?

2. OP’s brother asked if his girlfriend would be allowed to use his house to give birth.

Bro, what even? I am so confused.

3. He started the request off by saying their apartment was big enough or didn’t have a bathtub or space for an inflatable water pool for her to do it there.

4. OP, in contrast, had a big house with a lot of rooms and bathtubs in their respective bathrooms.

5. OP was so confused because he didn’t understand why the couple didn’t go to any doctor throughout the course of the girlfriend’s pregnancy.

6. OP’s brother even went on to say if the process of delivery would make him feel uncomfortable, he would be allowed to leave.

The couple wanted the house to themselves…

7. What concerned OP the most was the fear of something going wrong because if the couple did what they were planning to do, there was not going to be any doctor or medical officer there to supervise the delivery.

Are these people out of their minds? Who even does that? OP is very right for being super skeptical about this. What if something goes wrong during the delivery? There is a lot of blood loss that takes place during delivery and the doctors have women on a constant supply of IVs and whatnot during the process. This is just stup*dity.

Let’s see what happens next. It is OP’s house and if something goes wrong in his house, he will be held responsible. Scroll down below to continue reading!

8. The couple has been trying to guilt-trip OP by saying his refusal would make them really upset.

9. Even OP’s mom hinted him to let it happen.

10. But his heart just won’t allow him to have his house be used by his brother’s girlfriend to deliver a baby.

Here’s what the internet had to say about this:

11. Anything could happen. This cannot happen without medical supervision. No chance.

12. Do a good deed and refuse the offer. This will force them to the hospital, that is, if they don’t approach someone else with a big house who ends up saying yes.

13. You decide what happens at your house and what doesn’t. It is clear you don’t want it to be used by a woman to give birth to her child. The decision is final.
