Entitled Mom Wants Stranger Woman To Follow Her Family Rules

Family rules that you create yourself apply to your family only. You cannot expect others, who are not connected to your family, to abide by the family rules you have set for your family. Suppose a family has decided no one is allowed to stay awake beyond 7 p.m., that is the cut-off period and everyone goes to sleep by that time. In no way another family or a stranger is entitled to that policy. This is something very easy to understand, right? Not for this entitled family part of today’s story.

Reddit user u/Takenbyme12 shared that because her flight got delayed, she went to a restaurant at the airport to have some food and while waiting for it to arrive she started browsing her phone. An entitled family sitting at a table nearby began complaining internally first about OP using her phone and then the entitled mother told OP directly to stop using her phone as it is their family rule to not use phones at the table.

1. Nothing fits better under the heading of entitlement than this caption. My god! The levels are too high.

2. After an exhausting international business tour, while at the airport to return home OP got the news her flight had been delayed by two hours.

3. So OP found an airport restaurant, ordered some food, and started browsing her food while waiting for it to arrive.

4. While waiting a family came into the restaurant and sat next to OP’s table.

5. The little girl, out of nowhere, complained to her mother about OP being on her phone.

6. The mother then proceeds to tell OP they have a family rule that does not allow them to use the phone at the table.

7. OP gave a very polite yet deeply pinching response to the mother.

8. The son and the father felt extremely embarrassed and wanted the mother to just let go of it and focus on the food.

If your son and husband felt that way, it means there is something wrong with the way you suddenly get rude with random strangers, Mommy. This entitled mother fully got on OP’s nerves and she could’ve created a complete mess at the restaurant if she wanted but I am guessing the exhaustion and the thought of just reaching home and sleeping made her come up with this polite, but extremely sharp and tough-to-take response.

9. The mom again told OP to follow “their” family rule and stop using her phone.

10. Aw, someone please hand a tissue to the brother, he may start crying because OP is using her phone and he can’t.

11. While maintaining the polite tone, OP hit the little girl with a reality that probably the whole family couldn’t take in.

12. The mom finally called the waiter and asked to be reseated. He abided.

13. OP’s food finally arrived and she enjoyed it to her fullest while still using her phone.
