In healthy relationships, boundaries are like fences that keep us safe and comfortable. But sometimes, people might not respect those boundaries, which can lead to uncomfortable situations. It’s important to speak up and assert our limits to protect ourselves.

In today’s story, a new mom faced similar challenges with her husband’s grandparents. Ever since her baby was born eight months ago, life had been tough. At a family gathering, OP’s husband’s grandmother boldly took the baby from her arms without asking, then passed the baby around like a toy. OP felt a mix of emotions, mainly anger and disgust.

After a moment of reflection, OP decided to take a stand. She politely reminded her husband’s grandmother that others deserved a chance to hold the baby too. Now, she’s wondering if she handled the situation correctly. Scroll down below to read the story!

NTA. Go no-contact with that woman. Do not let her near your baby. She is kind of crazy. Such an act would annoy any mother. I am outraged right now. I think OP needs to view the legal aspects as well to make sure this doesn’t happen again because now that you have set a boundary, the grandma would be motivated to break it. This may potentially result in her stealing the baby. Anything is a possibility in this cruel world. Just be careful OP.

19. I think what were previously set were also hard boundaries but they got shattered. OP needs to think of something smart to get this matter dusted once and for all.
