Shopper Tells Cashier The Girl In Front Of Her Is Using Her Father’s Credit Card, Cashier Doesn’t Accept It

Credit Card Father

Although the disciplines and finance and economics are heavily based on predicting the future, assuming the numbers. The reality either meets the assumptions and the projections end up being accurate or the reality could be the exact opposite of the assumptions made resulting in all projections crashing and the senior management starting all over again.

The same is the case in everyone’s personal life. Making an assumption can either be fruitful or disastrous. Reddit user u/aljsdhnrthrow wasn’t sure if she did the right thing by making an assumption that she made so she turned to the infamous subreddit “Am I The A$$hole?

OP was at a high-end department store when she noticed two teenage girls grabbing some really expensive boots. She overheard the girl who was actually going to buy them and realized she was not going to use her own credit card but her father’s. OP assumed there and then that her father had not permitted her to use the card and that she was going to commit fraud by spending thousands of dollars of her father’s by buying those boots.

Coincidently OP and that girl were at the same cash register when the time came to bill. As the girl was about to swipe the card OP interrupted and told the cashier that the card she was using was her father’s. The cashier refused to take that card as a payment option. The girl kept saying her father had allowed her to use the card but OP kept interrupting by saying this would be a fraud. Eventually, the girl had to use her own card to buy the boots and left the store crying. Everyone at the store glared at OP showing that they didn’t like what just happened. Even her husband told her she did wrong.

And that is why OP turned to the AITA community members to know if she was in the right or wrong. Scroll down below to read the story!

1. If OP was sure it was a stolen card then no, if not then yes.

2. While OP was shopping at a high-end department store she noticed two teenage girls had picked up extremely expensive boots and had put them in the cart.

3. The girl who had gotten the boots was actually shopping for them on her father’s credit card, not her own.

4. OP assumes the girl is frauding her father and was interested to see how things would proceed.

6. OP tells the cashier the card the girl was using to pay for the boots was actually her father’s and she had no idea if she had been permitted to use it. Again, it was OP’s hunch.

7. The girl and her friend looked at OP giving her the worst possible look, not being able to believe what had just happened.

8. The girl tried explaining her father had permitted her to use the car at this store because it would give him points. But the cashier told her she could not shop at the store using that credit card anymore.

To be honest, this is a common practice. Parents do that a lot. And it isn’t even a VISA card or anything, it is a store card so I am not really sure what the problem is with OP. What if the girl’s father had allowed her to use the card? What if the assumption OP made was wrong? I know the story is not over yet but I would declare OP an AH right now. This is no way, she can’t just go up to anyone and start poking her nose in their business. These were teenage girls, what if it was a muscled adult, they could’ve given her a black eye for being too poky.

Let’s see what happened next. Scroll down below to continue reading!

9. The girl tries to prove to the cashier that it really is her father’s card by showing ID but OP intervened again by saying this was still a fraudulent act.

10. The girl told OP to mind her own business and assured her again that her father had permitted her to use the card. OP threatened to call the cops on her if she proceeded to shop using that card.

11. The girl finally shopped using her own card and left the scene crying. Everyone else at the store, including the cashier, was mad at OP. Her husband also declared her an AH for assuming that girl was a fraud.

Here’s what the AITA community members had to say about this:

12. OP was fully sticking her nose into that girl’s business.

13. Maybe her father did allow her to use his credit card. This wasn’t of OP’s concern at all.

14. OP let her entitled brain make the judgments.

15. It was a store card, the father had probably given it to her to use it. OP just assumed too much.

Dog tax.

“My dog ran away and I was looking for her. I was driving past a cop car and saw her out of the corner of my eye. After receiving her back she attacked like she never got arrested.”
