Teenager Finally Slams Door On Aunt’s Face Who Would Keep Leaving Her Son At Their House To Babysit

Aunt Babysitting

Some parents do not take responsibility for their children. I wonder why they conceive when they don’t even care about the child from the day it gets born. Like Reddit user u/Winter-Brick6307‘s aunt. She has a son who she probably doesn’t care about because every time she gets busy or has to go on a date with her husband, she leaves her son at OP’s house for them to babysit. Initially, they were okay with it but she started doing it very frequently and this started annoying OP a lot. Babysitting would make OP’s mother busy and in such cases, she would have to walk home, at times in the rain.

One time OP’s aunt came again to drop her son off and this time OP snapped. As soon as she opened the front door and saw it was her aunt, she slammed it right back and went to sleep. Everyone called her an AH so she decided to turn to the community members of the subreddit “Am I The A$$hole?” to know if slamming the door on her aunt was the right thing to do or not.

Scroll down below to read how it all went down!

1. Let’s see why did she feel the need to slam the door.

2. Whenever OP’s aunt comes ever she leaves her child at their house before leaving for them to babysit.

3. The surprise babysitting causes obstructions in their daily routine as at times mom is unable to pick OP from school and she has to walk home.

4. OP has tried telling her aunt that she needs to stop leaving her baby at their house for them to babysit but she would always ignore and keep on doing it.

5. OP shared she would’ve been fine with it had her aunt either paid them to babysit or at least notify beforehand.

6. This one time when the aunt came to drop her son off, only OP was home who woke up grumpy to the ringing doorbells.

7. As soon as OP saw it was her aunt, with her son, at the store, she slammed the door shut in her face and went back to sleep.

8. Everyone in the family called OP an AH for this. Her younger aunt did say that the older aunt was an AH for leaving her baby at OP’s all the time…

9. … But OP should have opened the door.

So entitled, this aunt. I feel so bad for her son, if she keeps doing this to her son there won’t form any connection between the two and he is not going to feel any love for his mother when he grows up because he would’ve spent so many other people but not his own mother. So OP was NTA for slamming that door. The aunt needs to be responsible and stop being an AH.

Here’s what the AITA community members had to say about this:

10. If your mom is okay with it, then she can do it. You don’t like it and you shouldn’t be involved either.

14. If they think OP should’ve babysit that means they support the idea and can do it themselves.
